Default Cam recoat. Is this the correct coating?

Hello,
As some of you who have read my last post know, i had been doing a TB WP change and some people said that i had to change the cam gears and maby the oil pump gear. Well, I found a very nice condition used set here in PR (didnt know there were a couple 928 part cars in very good condition very near my house) and sent them to Finishline Coatings as many have said that they do a great job. After a couple of emails with a representative, she told me to leave a note inside specifying that i want the dry film lubricant coat. I received them yesterday and the recipt said the cam gears were coated with "Porsche Engine Gears- Molly Base Coating" .
Is this and dry film libricant the same thing?
Thanks everyone in advanced,

and here is a photo.

That is probably correct. Most dry film lubricants (DFL) are moly based. Finish Line Coatings did my cam gears about 7 months ago and that is what they looked like.

What was the cost for this? Can you post the contact info?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot, i had doubt because most pictures of DFL coated gears did not have a glossy finish. By the way, how are the gears holding up after 7 months?

They were done by Finish Line Coatings too. They have a site. I do not remember but I think that the first time i contacted them was through the site. The price was about $45 each gear plus shipping.

http://finishlinecoatings.com/

I had mine re-coated last year.
Very satisfied.

Will it last?
Time will tell.

Manuel, one thing I misstated. My cam gears were too far gone to be coated, so I got new ones. I could not find any good used ones when doing my T-belt job last year.

What I had coated were the oil pump gear and crank gear. Since those are buried under the lower timing belt cover I can't really get a picture to tell you how they are wearing.

Both my original oil pump gear and crank gear were shot. I picked up good used ones from 928 INTL and sent them to Finishline Coatings. Mine had that same glossy finish as your cam gears. In truth I'll probably not see them again for about 7 or 8 years until the next timing belt job. I'll post updated photos sometime around 2022 or 2023.
