Default Wide band controllers and Engine management systems

I ordered a wide band sensor from Roger and when it showed up i see that it has 5 wires #258-007-057 a good VW sensor that is compatible with most stuff.
So I was not sure what to do with the 5 wires and googled it. I see that a controller must be use especially with aftermarket Engine management systems.
I use Electromotive Tec-4 GT
http://www.electromotive-inc.com/pro...ngine-control/

a while back I thought I was buying one off someone here and all I got was a Lc1 gauge.
Whats my next step to getting one or what ever I need quickly so that I can use a wideband?

thanks

Originally Innovate offered wither the LM-1 or the LC-1 kits. The LC1 was a sensor and a gauge whereas the LM1 kit was a digital box with a display showing the AFR. The LM1 then produces a signal that is sent to the ST2 unit. I believe something similar can be done with the LC1 kit.

If you visit the Innovate website you should be able to find info as to how to connect things up.

The LC-1 is 'just' a small black box controller that takes the input from a Bosch wideband sensor and converts it into a 0-5V analog signal that feeds to the sharktuner. The LM-1 has the same function but includes an AFR display.

2 issues:

1. Brad doesn't have sharktuner, he's got a TEC GT.

http://www.electromotive-inc.com/wp-...Manual-2.3.pdf

2. The thing Brad's holding up isn't an LC-1, nor is it an LM-1. It looks more like an XD-16, which (unless I'm mistaken based on 30 seconds of reading in the manual linked below) is just a gauge, it's not a wideband controller.

http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/s...D16_Manual.pdf

The manual for the TEC GT has info about connecting WB02 controllers on pages 94 and 95.

So you have 2 problems:

1- You have a 5-pin WBO2 sensor but no controller to connect it to.

2. That #258-007-057 sensor (AKA Bosch 17014) is plug and play with an LC-1 or an LM-1, but not any of the currently available WBO2 controllers from Innovate. So to use it you'll have to find a good used LC-1 or LM-1. The alternative would be to just go buy a new MTX-L and be done with it, and return that 17014 to Roger.

you are missing the controller for that gauge/sensor. i have a version of that gauge, but you don't "need" a gauge, just the controller to talk to the tuning software.
(edit after rob beat me to it)

MTx-l is what i have. easy peasy

Ducman, I've used the Spartan 2 controller from 14point7.com on several builds. Cheap and reliable, so far.
Best Regards, Dinsdale
