Picking up the 928
Just drove north a couple hours and I'm sitting at Cracker Barrel waiting for the new addition to show up.

The seller agreed to meet me halfway so I drove three hours and we met. The first thing he said was that he had reset the trip meter when he left and the odometer quit working. That very day, what a coincidence.
The interior was Very dirty. He had mentioned on the phone that it had been in storage and needed cleaning but this was not what I expected. He had also mentioned on the phone that it had an idle problem, something not mentioned in the Ebay description.
The drive I took it on was challenging trying to keep it running while braking and stopped. He mentioned that its easier to keep it running if I manually shift and also mentioned that these cars all start out in second gear when driven in D.
He told me that the fuel tank will only hold 16 gallons because he dropped the tank for a repair and once these tanks are dropped you cant fill them all the way up. (I would love to know whats going on here).
Seller popped hatch to show me the things that come with the car and there is a piece missing from the latch that makes hatch not seal properly.
He left the key in the hatch and forgot it was there so when I got the extra key out of the console he told me about to crank the car he informed me it only unlocks the door. He forgot to mention that at first.
We move to the front of the car and a driving light lens is cracked.
Open the hood and the struts dont hold hood open, turn on the lights and they come up but not on.
Seller says they were working the other day and its probably just the bulbs. I mention that they dont typically blow in pairs so we check the relay.
We then move to an auto parts store so he can change the bulbs since he is sure thats the problem. He didnt offer to buy bulbs so I took the cash from his payment stack to buy them. Of course, changing the bulbs did not help.
Also the dash and pod were cracked alot , the paint was dead on the roof, not shown in pictures and the back window had awful bubbling tint, again not shown.
It also has been repainted in at least some areas but to give the seller the benefit, he did not say it hadnt he just failed to mention that it had.
So with all these undisclosed flaws and now unknown miles, I offered him a firm $6500 for the car and we parted ways.
He texted me and called me for the next hour as I made my way home trying to get me to buy the car.
Today I am getting nasty texts from him because he is mad that I didnt buy the car.
Wasnt there someone else on The List that was interested in this one?

Sounds like you're the one who should be leaving mad texts...wow....sorry it didn't work out, but you can find much better candidates for that money.
