I'm gonna drop it off at local shop. The oil pressure warning/constant overheating was enough to scare me to not drive it again. It would be upsetting if it is the water pump considering its practically new with less then 3k miles. Thanks for the help mrmerlin

it could also be funky gauge connections with a corroded harness or shorting wires,

an IR gun will answer these questions

So I have gotten car back and this is what they found. Coolant was not circulating. They took water pump out and found that impeller was rubbing engine. This is photos of pump and the impeller. Appears impeller has moved out.

Is that a plastic impeller? Hopefully so, at least the block should be OK.

that aint no plastic impeller.... if the scratching is minor, as it probably is, it will be fine. i remember scots was pretty bad from a pump failure, and his car ran and raced very cool.
