IT DOES NOT RUN !!! so how can this be considered a "deal" . In order to be an automobile it must move under it's own power....transport people and things..this "car" is stationary...garage art a true pig in a poke. Who knows what is possibly wrong with it ??? or how much it might cost to save it ! Often the cheapest 928 ends up being one of the more expensive ones.

As a parts car if you had a car same color, it's worth that to myself.

If its your fav color.

It probably ran when parked. 'that will get comments'

Probably dead battery, son inherited upon father death. 'story'.

100% pig in a poke.

Isn't this the same 928 that you thought could be bought for $2500 and you were trying to get 10 people to throw in $500 each (raising $5K) so it could be fixed and sold for $25K to unwitting fools in China? Maybe you think we are also a bunch of unwitting fools on Rennlist. Give it a break and give it up, it ain't gonna happen. You've got a parts car. That's it. End of story.
Buh Bye.

Sorry sir but you are delusional ... and have no idea what owning a 928 is really all about. I applaud your unbridled enthusiasm no matter how misguided....

I recently bought an 85 for $2k, and drove it home.

I would have paid 3, but between selling it to someone that gave a **** and pick N pull, he took 2.

Keep looking, this is a "project", with $5k staring at you in work, minimum.

My runner, I have about $3k into..and remember, it ran great when I bought it.

I also applaud your enthusiasm..but it's like buying airplanes. Dont work hard to find the right one, it will find out, just be ready cash in hand when it happens, because those deals go -fast-.

I've got all of the tools, resources, and compatible spare parts on the ready to make this a nice car again.. so I'm in it for up to $1500.

No thank you for a nickel more.

I offer $1501 but only if it's actually Cassisrot. He says it isn't but it sure looks Cassisrot to me.

Cassis red was only from 87. Maybe a dusty Weinrot?

This looks like a deal to me--manual transmission and doesn't appear to have a sunroof says 'buy it'. Wish I lived closer.

For those experts who say <$2k: good luck with that.

To the OP, thank you for sharing this.

It's 4000$ in parts... maybe..... Ask what 'my father was working on it' means.... I wouldn't pay 4k for that car. 2k probably if it was a little closer.

I think you missed the "non-running" part of the scenario.

Unless there is an all original, absolutely perfect paint / body / interior, the price is grossly high.

130k miles on a non-runner pre 85 you have to assume the clutch is suspect along with the synchros and price it accordingly.
This is before you start to calculate any possible engine / electrical issues.

+1

The synchros are usually spent on the early transmissions in my experience. Even in cars with far less miles *showing*..
