Default New member introduction

As a new member of this forum, and a newbie 928 owner, I'd like to express my thanks to all for the tremendous amount of useful information I've found to help me understand, maintain and address common issues. I have always had an interest in the 928, ever since they first came out when I was still in my teens. Over the past 10 years I've had experience with a few 6 cylinder, rear engine, aircooled cars, all of the Corvair kind, including a 1962 Rampside pickup, and a 1969 Monza convertible, so it was time for a change. I've also spent a lot of time repairing and restoring old pinball machines as a hobby. My car is a 1983 928S, 5sp, LSD, black with factory special order white seats. Although not partial to black cars, I'm really starting to like the look of it on my 928. This is the car that was recently posted for sale by Godzilla83s so a good amount of work had recently been done. I must say that it is nice having a manual to shift though it is my wife, having owned a couple of manual Corvette's in her past, who is more excited about that aspect. My kids have all given me the thumbs up with the 928 and they know where to find me these days, in the garage! I'd like to hear from other local owners in the Media, PA vicinity; I know there are at least a couple nearby as I've seen a red OB and a later red S4? In the area. - Steve

Yeah. But those aren't pictures of your car, those are pictures of his car.

Welcome. You are very, very fortunate. You are rather close to MrMerlin( Stan), one of the noted experts on these cars, and by all accounts, a pretty nice guy.

Nice car and color (and you know what they say about black).

Congratulations, on your new ride.

Like they say..."any port in a storm". Sometimes you have to use what is available.

Example...

I'm going to wash my car the other day, looking high and low for my wash bucket, which is manly forest green by the way...lol and one l keep sparkling clean, anyhow, eventually after searching for the amount of time it would have taken to wash the car...I find it in my wife's chicken food container/plastic barrel...with remnants of chicken feed still stuck to the bottom and sides.

I'm like...why...why would she do such a thing? But truth be told, I know the answer before even asking...since she probably couldn't find her bucket, because she never, ever, never, ever, puts it back where it belongs...and I do. So, using women logic...it's much easier to take mine...than let's say...look for hers. You probably don't even have to guess which way she votes during an election either...lol.

Okay, rant over...need to go take some meds...

Brian.
