Default Back to the Future II and Porsche 928

I searched the forum for threads about the movie "Back to the Future" in relation to the Porsche 928. Does anyone know whether the Pasha upholstery has any part in that?

Stay tuned, your gonna like this thread.

OK, this is the story. Apparantly, some documentary maker has been asked by the moviemakers in Hollywood to make a documentary on DVD to celebrate the movie "Back to the Future II" made in 1989. In this movie, the car and its occupants travel through time to the 21st October 2015 (destination time). This magical date is coming soon and the celebration is a real big thing. A countdown website is telling you how long it will take before the 21st october 2015.

http://www.october212015.com/

In this movie there is a flying taxi, build up from an old Citroen DS. This car has some graphics that are inspired on the Pasha upholstery from our beloved Porsche 928. I say inspired because it only loosely resembles the pattern.

https://www.screenused.com/?sectionI...m&item_id=1880

The Citroen is sold to someone in the Netherlands and that is where we come in. This documentary maker apparantly made a documentary about the car (the Citroen) and wanted some pictures of the original upholstery that inspired the creator of the famous taxi graphics. He started searching for a car with what he called the "black and white blocks". He couldn't find one so he asked the chairman of the dutch 928 club. Our chairman knew that I have a car with the "black and white blocks" so contacted me. I explained that the car was in pieces so not very presentable. That was no big deal because the photographer / moviemaker only needed shots of the upholstery. So we met at the barn where I work on my car, near the distillery where I work. This afternoon we did some shots, photo and video, of the interior and the lights popping up (with me sitting under the fender to operate them). Also a short videoshot of me walking past the car.

Some of these shots will hopefully make it to the DVD. I'll let you know. If all goes well, this DVD will be another piece of merchandise that will go on sale on the 21st of October 2015 when Doc and Marty McFly will arrive from the past in their modified DeLorean, before leaving again to go back to 1955...

Your car is going to be stunning, and doesn't have very far to go. I'd love to see more photos as you progress.

Thank you but it looks nicer than it really is. Engine is still out. Body needs repainting badly. Work so far was focussed on the mechanicals and everything underneath. Perhaps you recall this picture (me in original Porsche mechanics clothing). Someone said it looked like I was going to smash the car to bits with that headlight bar glad I didn't. Picture was taken in April 2014. Since then, gearbox, TT and rear suspension was fitted. Some part paintwork done, lots of small jobs done.

Cool barn too.

Did they take pictures of themselves taking picture? It could be a cool "short clip extra".

What do you do at the distillery?

1. Yes but it will be torn down within a year and then I´ll have to have the car out otherwise it´ll go down together with the barn. It used to be a Renault garage. Now it is used to store old museu stuff from the distillery and from the windmills ( build in 1785) just next to the distillery (founded in 1777)
2. I did some smartphone pictures while the photographer took his pictures
3. I am master distiller and quality manager

Too bad about the barn but kudos on the master distiller.

Do you have any of your own recipes?

Yes I enjoyed this a lot and hope for the best.

The interior was like an order qualifier for me. I wanted a 928 with this interior. For those of us who have THE 2015 928 calendar: Remember April 2015?

Since we are going slightly off-topic now, and because my job always catches attention, I might just as well explain something about it with pictures, I know most Americans like this.

Developing new gins is the hype right now. I think we have 4 different gin development projects at the same time for different customers. Not counting all ther other projects (over 20 projects running at the same time)

See:
If you watch closely you can see me nosing the botanicals and checking the tank levels.

More about the company:
I appear at approx 2:55 and 3:25

Today I did an organic audit in the windmill from across the street. This windmill is 45 m high, was build in 1785. It is one of 5 in a row in the town of Schiedam. See pictures from the windmill with the original wooden staircases from 1785 (4 stairs go all the way to the top. If you look closely you see spots of burnt wood under the steps. This originates from the early days when oil lamps were put on every step so people could see where they went in the night. Milling grains was a 24/7 job in those days. Now this mill works almost exclusively for our distillery of which you see a small part in the picture with me nosing.

Hope you like it.

Adminstrator/modulator: Don't worry, I'll remove the pictures soon. I know it's off topic but some people reaaly like this.

Cool story and car. Good luck with the rest of your restoration.
