It seems to be true about the Porsche 928 upholstery. See this ebay item (model car of the flying taxi Citroen DS)
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/Norev-1-43-DS...item5675480af4
And the company that makes the documentary:

Well, the dvd is ready and it's great! Bad news is, Universal studio's decided not to take it as an item for sale when 21st October 2015 comes (destination time from the movie "Back to the future II").
The dvd has an interview with John Bell explaining how the Citroen DS was used for the creation of the flying cab. He also explaines about the white/black blocks were made, inspired on both the white/black blocks on the stripes of the familiar yellow cab and the seat upholstery of the Porsche 928. The "pop art" looks of the Porsche seat upholstery inspired John bell to create the much larger theme on the cab, like it is an evolution of the simple white/black blocks on the then current yellow cab.
Very cool to see your car in a profesionally made documentary. Especially when you see your name on the aftertitles!
