Default Phoenix Happy Hour on Thursday?

Anyone up for a few beers and maybe some dinner this Thursday (11th) between about 4 and 7? My 17 yr old son and I will be in Phoenix for a concert in Mesa Thursday, before heading north to the Grand Canyon and on to other destinations in NM and West TX. It may be a bit early for some but we need to get to the show around 7:30. Somewhere around Mesa would be preferred. I don't know Phoenix, so open to suggestions of a pub.

This will be my longest 928 road trip ever, but I think the 86.5 is up to it.

Alan, Drewster, Rich, Dan, others?

Hey Don, I'm in, but I'll let Rich or the others chime in on a location since they're more familiar with Mesa.

I think I could be there (finally work is easing up...). I don't know of any particularly obvious places in Mesa. Let's see if Rich chimes in?

It seems like its been a longtime since we got together - so maybe a good chance (unless I just missed some get togethers?). I'd have to wash my car though - its been a while!

I'll be there. For the weird, there is Organ Stop Pizza. For German fare - Zur-Kate. Both are in Mesa. And then there is always Beaver Choice..... yep, a favorite of mine. More of an ecclectic menu with food from Scandinavia, French Canada, Poland, etc. Very popular with the Canadian snow birds. Oh, and the food is good too. Here is the menu - http://www.beaverchoice.com/DINNER.pdf

We have good bbq too, heresy I know when speaking with Texans, so I suggest one of the three above. Good food, good time, in Mesa.

Hey Don, you might post this in the Off Topic forum. There are a few people in this end of the Valley who like to get together every now and then. Fun folk despite their errant choice in cars

Dan,

I thought Beaver Choice might be the type of place I wouldn't want to go with my son until I checked the web page :-) Very interesting menu. I'll let you locals decide. We're good with anything.

Nothing better than Choice Beaver, er, I mean, Beaver Choice. Looking forward to seeing you and meeting your son.

Doing a little digging .....

Beaver Choice doesn't open until 5 pm, I didn't see beer on the menu.

Zur Kate opens at 4 and you bet they have German Beer, 928s would look good there. I suggest meeting there at 4 PM.

Sounds good, looking forward to meeting up! Zur Kate is just down the road from our hotel, so perfect location.

I'll be on about the same schedule as Drew, but I'll get there as quick as I can.

Default getting there

Almost to Ft Stockton. The car is doing great so far and my son is enjoying driving with the 80 mph speed limits. What a great car to drive across Texas in! My son says he now understands what Jeremy meant when he said the 928 was designed to run at top speed for hours...

Default bads news

The ran great for about 8 hours straight, then suddenly died. Moved some relays around, got it going and drove another hour or so then dead again. Now about 10 miles west of Van horn with a flat bed on the way to toe it back to van horn. Thought it was the ignition relay first, but now think it is the fuel pump. It was making some weird noises and bit buzzing like normal.
