Hi can anyone please describe how to remove this switch from the handbrake unit. One of the wiring connector tabs has broken off but I have a good used replacement (also part of a handbrake assembly but wrong colour). It unloosens partlially by twisting anti-clockwise, but the bottom part will not separate from the top. Be very grateful for any advice.
Thanks in advance,
John

to remove the switch,
you will need a thin drill bit , or a 3mm allen wrench
pull the **** up then insert the drillbit into the hole in the shaft of the switch.
NOTE make sure the part 33 is fully screwed down,
as if its not then this piece will cover the hole in the shaft.
Once you have the drill bit in the hole then unscrew the **** then remove 33,
the switch will fall out the bottom.
NOTE to remove the connectors from the switch,
slide the plastic outer portion on the connector away from the switch,
this will release the grip then pull the wire as you hold the plastic.
NOTE the pull switches have a small phenolic spacer inside of them.
This spacer can crumble, then the switch will short to ground when its pulled thus blowing the fuse.
This can be repaired
to that, bend the tabs on the switch back just enough to remove the top plate.
Once you have it apart ,
then take some carpet thread and wrap it around the shaft a few times to separate the lower contact from the bottom of the shaft,
a few drops of super glue will hold the thread in place.
