Default Tranny Mounts Made Easy, Captain Slow

Thanks to the Captain, just switched out the tranny mounts using his walkthrough.
Relatively painless job.
I noticed my shift pattern felt better afterwards, which surprised me.

Dave - Very glad my little write up helped. It's a much easier job than I had anticipated, especially so after reading what other folks had removed to do the job.

I had just done motor mounts a month prior. In hindsight I now think of the motor mounts and trans mounts as a system that should be swapped out together, especially if installing new Volvo engine mounts. Consider that the new Volvo mounts lift the engine a bit above stock height and that my old trans mounts were sitting about the same amount below stock height. This would result in the driveline tilted quite a bit - and likely could be related to the improved shifting you noted after installing new mounts.

Jon, I think you are dead on right - should be done at same time.

In hindsight, I had also just done the MM with volvo mounts a few months ago.
I didn't realize how compressed my tranny mounts were until I put the new set on.
I really just put them on last weekend because I bought them when I thought I might have to pull off the tranny, because of my grub screw debacle -- then I figured, crap, at that cost I need to at least put them on the car instead of sitting in a box, LOL.

Again thanks for help.
Regards.
