Default Dash pod switch lamps...How to get ahold of the damn bulbs!

So I'm trying to replace my pod bulbs for the headlight switch, hazard button and such but I can get 4 of the bulbs out. I've tried everything from needle nose pliers, tweezers and everything in between.. What the hell was Porsche thinking!

Anyone have any tips?

Thx

vinyl tubing - stretch the end open with needle nose piers - slip over the bub - then wait for it contract back - pull out!

I tried a piece of silicon tubbing without luck, any particular place you buy the correct tubbing?

Thanks Alan

what works for me is a slice of 600 grit paper,
fold it in half ,
slide it over the bulb,
then grab the paper with thin needle nose pliers then pull out the bulb.

Hot glue gun and tubing works pretty good, too.

I've used simple desktop office tape and tweezers... I cut a small strip of tape and wrap around bulb- sticky side to bulb 360º and then reverse with the same piece of tape, without cutting, and doing another 360º with sticky side away from bulb. Then use tweezers to pull.

No breaks so far- but man would I love to get the tubing trick to work!

It was late and I didnt have the tubing or sandpaper on hand so I just used a hot glue gun and dabbed a bit on each bulb, once it cooled I was able to pull them out easily.

Hot glue, nice, will try that the next time.

I've had some break in the past when removing them, this is a great time to have safety glasses on as they "pop".

The tubing works extremely well - if you get the right size - just take a bulb along and buy 1' flex clear vinyl thick wall tubing

Because it applies even all round pressure it has little risk of damage and the bulbs once removed are easy to wiggle out of the tube.

Standard clear aquarium tubing has always worked well for me.

Glad the hot glue gun worked out for you, MJ! I've had to use it several times.
