A common issue is the interior lights grounding out against the roof.
You may dislike this, but you should remove the headliner to see if the wires have melted. They have been known to before.
You should also switch to the VW lights as they are cheap, durable, and don't have any exposed metal contacts like the Porsche ones do. This swap could also fix your your parasitic drain.

i had an '87 (back in '97 - only a ten-year-old car) ... everything worked and it looked like it just rolled out of the showroom. it would drain the battery in 1-2 weeks if not driven much. i still have the Battery Tender i bought for it.
my recent '87 was much "rougher" and older, but due to an alarm that liked to go off randomly, i disconnected it. that car sat unstarted for over a month during the winter, but fired right up.
due to the uselessness of a bleating car alarm (does anybody really pay any attention to them anymore?), you may want to try this ... in addition to all the good advice posted above. not sure about your MY, but it was fairly easy to disconnect, and can be put back to working order easily, too.

the interior lights red / door warning lights are hot powered + all the time the system works by getting a ground to complete the circuit. So door pin switches rear hatch switch ground to complete the circuit. Unscrew a door pin switch and there is a single wire which when the pin extends touches the metal body....rear hatch has two wires brown (constant ground) and brown with white stripe (switched ground) . If a door pin ground wire is loose touching metal anywhere lights will be on.

I tell myself that maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but, someday I'll find the exact source of that parasitic drain and fix it. Meanwhile, I like having the lights back on. Especially at night. I just hope that this ugly addition doesn't make me a bad owner in everyone's eyes.
