Help with CMC mod...mine looks different?
I bought a new clutch master, and pulled the "guts" in order to install in my current housing (trying to avoid the dreaded R&R for the master). I went ahead and performed the modification of shortening the new piston and spring after reading countless posts. So...today I pulled the guts out of my current master cylinder housing, and then tried to replace with the new parts. The new piston/spring will not go far enough into the housing...in fact, it seems to bottom out just past getting the rear seal into the housing (the metal flange is almost entirely exposed when it won't go in any further). Here is a picture showing the new "guts" on the bottom and the originals on the top. What am I missing here? Any hope for me to avoid replacing the CMC (I am pretty handy, but currently working in tight quarter with no lift or engine hoist). Thanks for any and all help... you are an invaluable resource to me.

at this point I would suggest that your going to have to swap out the MC cylinder as well.
Now you may get lucky a few tricks to make this easy.
loosen the hard line B nut 1 turn. ,
get a long bolt the same size thread of the MC attach bolts,
and use this to fish the MC up into position,
the MC should come out with the hard line attached ,
you will have to remove the starter first.
install a new blue hose no clamps are needed.
NOTE the blue hose should run uphill to the feed port

loosen but to not remove the booster bolts, this will help give you another 1/4" of wiggle room. I did mine with no lift or hoist, though I now feel qualified to give a horse a prostate exam while blind..
