Just got back from Northern NJ where they held the Zone 1 PCA Concours yesterday. Drive the 220 miles down without getting the car too dirty then it rained most the night and morning and had us all scrabbling to get the pollen and rain cleaned off the cars in the morning before the judging.
There was still a good turn out and my 1991 928 GT took first in class with 299 out of 300 points! I also got a bonus 1.1 points for driving 220 miles to the event for a final total of 300.1!
Meet a lot of great people from the northern NJ PCA region and they made me feel right at home (I am a Jersey boy at heart).
There was a second 928 owned by Phil Stern from Flemington, NJ. Beautiful granite green with green grey interior, very nice clean 87 S4. Phil took second place.
Over the course of the day a lot of interest and questions on the GT. Met Dom Miliano who is a contributor and photographer for Excellence mag. He said they are trying to do more articles on the front engine Porsches and is going to suggest to get an article on the GT done for Excellence.
All in all a great day, great event and made many new friends.
Good to meet Anthony (cobalt) and Murray Kane, concours chairman, also.

Way to go Bob! Your GT (and how you take care of it) are well deserving of 1st place.

In the Porsche PCA Zone concours, they primarily are judging for cleanliness, or how close to showroom condition the car is, the do not judge for originality. At the Porsche Parade there are categories which judge for originality and cleanliness.

Congrats Bob! Beautiful car and well deserved!
I'm quite jealous, all my PCA region ever does is autocross - I don't think they even know what the word concours means. Grrr.
