have wondered often what is out there in the way of unique 928's...seems to me the mindset of the 928 owner is a touch off the beaten path or possibly a bit farther...whatever, i bet there are some seldom seen beauties...
so...

Actually few Americans ordered a 928 made just for them.....so the dealers ? PCNA was very conservative about the colors of the cars being made for dealer inventory. Red ,black, silver, white being the norm.....black or tan interior almost never in cloth .
Can Can RED interior almost NEVER which is a shame
also explains the sunroof option on so many cars here. I firmly believe and was told by many original owners that the Porsche dealer did EVERYHING they could to sell the 928 they had in stock rather than special order another 928 optioned out as the buyer wanted..... 928s were a very hard sell and the dealers did not like getting stuck with them in stock. 1991 for example was such a bad year with so many carry over unsold 928s that PCNA opted NOT to bring in the "new" GTS in 1992 fearing that they would NEVER be able to unload the old 1991 models.
