If anyone has any photo's of George, please post them here. Here's one from a very rainy St. Pete gathering at Ferg's. From left to right it's Me, then George, then Russel and finally Shadowknight.

Thanks

I didn't know George as I'm a new member here, but I consider any 928 owner / fan to be a friend of mine. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing, and I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends.

In retrospect, my comment this morning was overly snide and insufficiently respectful and consolatory. I plead that I had not slept since midnight the night before.

Condolences to those remaining, who suffered the loss, and Requiescat in Pace, George.

It always hurts to hear another 928er passing. I never met him, but from what you said, he was an amazing person.

RIP George.

You will be missed George. My condolences to the family and those closest to him. Death from cancer is a terrible thing. A blessing he passes quickly.

What a character! Never a dull moment when I met him in 2007. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

RIP George, there is one heck of a group of 928 owners on the other side to get into shenanigans with.

Our time on this rock is far too short.

FYI - I've contacted the forum admin to change his user title to reflect his passing.

My wife & I are Very Saddened to hear of George's passing. A finer man you could not find. You could not be around him 5 mins without loving the guy & thinking of him as family.

He'd truly do anything for you & he had the fastest funniest wit of the best stand up comic. Sometimes he say something & you'd have to think a minute to get it cause he was so smart and deep. Kind of like Dennis Miller. Our Daytona & Sebring events weren't complete unless George was there to make us all laugh. He had a saying when a conversation got too serious to bring levity, with a low almost whisper, "Clint Eastwood like" statement of ".......The Bastards"! I've used that many times since 1st hearing him say it.

I'll post some more pics this weekend, but here are a few that come to mind when I think of George. He loved his 928, and kept it show room condition. We'll keep his wife Doreen & family in our prayers. Rest in Peace George, you were First Class all the way. I'll tip a Land Shark back in your honor this weekend.

A few more pics of George A.
1) Paying attention to Mike Giamarco's expert 928 tutoring.
2) With his wife Doreen & some of the Sebring gang at George V's restaurant.
3) Lending his RV for the 928 OC banner at Sharks at Daytona.
4) With Andrew & Hans(?) at the SITM hotel car wash ritual.
5) His wife Doreen clowning it up with the Coke racer at a Sebring Shark Shiver.
6) At a nightly social at George V's restaurant at Sebring. That's Shawn in the background dancing with Arlene.
7) With the Daytona gang(giving Arlene a hug).
8) At the gathering in Orlando when Brad S. came to visit in Fla.
9) With his '88 S4 at Sharks at Daytona in '07 when we had it in conjunction with Rennsport Reunion III. This was the staging prior to the track touring.

Those Shark gatherings were really good times & George A. epitomized what it was all about, not just the cars, but truly about the people. George will be missed & remembered by many who were fortunate enough to have known him.
