Hey all,
Finally getting to the 928, while working a resurrection of the 968.
928= Engine is out.
Going to do:
Intake refresh, MM, OPG, Steering rack rebuild, TB/WP with new Cam gears, Injectors to Witch Hunter, Powder coat.
Questions for today. The While your in there items. Specifically, with the oil pan down.
I got the Cam covers, Fuel Rails off with no issues. Hope my good fortune continues.
I will most likely do suspension items, wiring harness rebuild.
thnx
John

I would look at adding an Oil baffle at the Filler neck to cut down on oil injestion, also replace the plastic Cam chain pads (if they have never been done).
As for the Oil pan down, are you going w/ the stud kit for the pan gasket have had great luck w/ those and the Silicon gasket.
also do the Oil pump service, front and rear seals, a crank scrapper / baffle if you plan on tracking it and depending on miles it wouldn't hurt to remove at least one of the Rod bearings to have a look see (2/6) would be my choice, remember you will need new rod nuts![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Fun project especially the way it all cleans up!

I need to find vendors and part #'s for the baffle, oil pump kit
I dont track so dont think I will do the scraper.

You should check the heads for the updated pins for the unused cam journals. The plastic bushings are known to fail and blow out causing a low oil pressure situation and lifter noise. Porsche fixed it in 1989 or so.. Yours may not have been updated.
