The 928 was the first sports car designed and built entirely by Porsche using all Porsche-made components for engine, body, and suspension. It was cutting edge technology in 1977 that lasted into the 1990s.

This is a statement to quiet down the 911 purist ! LOL

It's weird though that the owners manual says Volkswagen and not Porsche AG !

Yes, the 928 was a "clean sheet" Porsche design, not derivative of VW/Audi/Mercedes. Tony Lapine brought some American muscle concepts into it, as well as the Lambo Muira touch on the headlights. The 928 is pure Porsche, which most other Porsche afficianados do not know.

Thanks Ed. And also another statement caught my eye, is the fact that it has better handling caracteristics than the 911, WOW.

I haven't seen the entire collection, but I believe that the GT in the article used to be Bob Ingram's. I believe that Ingram bought it along with a few other cars from Jackson's collection.

That GT is absolutely amazing. Best 928 I've ever seen in person.

interior overhead lights are 911.....so there goes the rumor.....besides there is little Volkswagon in the 911..... very, very little.... sure the engine is in the rear.... BFD !
