"Much of the attention distinctly felt like a combination of wonderment at how modern the car still seems and was for it's time."

The first issue of Road&Track that tested the 928 in '78 (I have this issue, but not in front of me at the time) also featured a scintillating road test of a Chevette! The fact (or just my opinion) that any manufacturer could debut the 928 today had it never been produced and create a HUGE stir, just demonstrates the truly timeless design. I know we're all biased, but you KNOW you'd gawk at it if debuted at any major car show today!

and the tide has risen ever so slightly yet again. A very nice looking car that was far from original and with more than a few "nits", an 82, 5 speed, just sold for $12K. Two years ago this was a 6 to 8 K car all day long.

Well done seller, and probably in retrospect, well bought. Hope to see it here and in more detail.

I drove my 10 year old to school this morning in mine and it's just amazing to me how much more people like this car than my departed 1986 Carrera
which i modified and was a pretty 911.

Teenagers wrench their necks staring at my 928 as it passes by. People take camera pics so much i've lost count.

928s are rare birds. I'm thinking some have no idea what it is.

If values are any indication of interest, the latest Hagerty price guide certainly suggests a rise. Here's mine: https://www.hagerty.com/valuationtoo...eport?vbe=6724

I hope the seller gets every single penny of his asking price!

Something look like it may be seriously wrong with the passenger side front wheel. It is too far back in the wheel well.

At first I thought that it was just the lighting and front spoiler...but now that you mention it, I went to the dealer site...you might be on to something!

The odd thing is that this dealership only deals in top quality cars...I've lusted over a number of Diablos that came and went there...so, I would think they would have seen an issue with the 928?

You know, I do and don't...I do in that I want the 928 to finally get the respect it deserves, and I don't cause I don't want to be worried about putting mileage on my car cause it is such a pleasure to drive!

As I use my car to drive between The Bay Area and LA, I watch the miles stack up which in some ways saddens me, but it is what it is. I enjoy the trips so much more in a 928 vs a Range Rover or a TDi that are at my deposal. Often I get followed or shadowed for miles then when they pass I get a big thumbs up. My dream would be to buy a new 928 similar to my 80 or if Singer decides to build a 928, now there is something to dream about.

Hope the odometer gears break - then you don't have to watch the miles increase!

I too have a '67 Sunbeam Alpine (to the left in my avatar, to the right is a Lotus Elise) love that car...except right now - electrical short is boiling batteries...such a bummer.

If Singer decides to build a 928 you could by a new 911 instead...

Myself , I would love to see the Panamera get a 2 door GT version... (and fix the *** end first)

Here in Australia prices are on the rise fast. I have an 86 5.0 RHD which I believe only 250 or so were made with 5.0L in RHD. Someone correct me if I'm wrong as I'd like to know how may were made in RHD. It has 122,000kms on it and I'm doing a semi-resto on it now and expect to sell it for around AU$35K. I am going to buy any good ones that come my way.
