Inquiring Minds?????
As an experiment and also to get a baseline on my car,Here are the
emission numbers I got Saturday with all smog control inactive except O2
sensor. 8^( ??? Confusing to me. The HC and CO numbers I think show RICH
the NOX number I think indicates LEAN. The car is an 87S4 Auto, Cat bypass
and RMB, 19lb. Ford injectors and adj fuel pressure regulator, the rest is
stock. No known vacuum leaks, known good MAS and O2 sensor.
25/25 test 50/15 test
reading/allowed reading/allowed
HC 218/144 230/148
CO % 0.72/0.92 0.71/0.83
NOx ppm 1950/1014 2788/1110
CO+CO2% 14.8/6.0min. 14.8/6.0min.
RPM 1273/2500max. 1252/2500max
Just trying to understand and set the car correctly. Any thoughts?? TIA

John,
How are things across the pond? No the air pump was also not connected so these readings are unaltered. I was considering connecting my volt meter to the O2 sensor and adjusting the fuel pressure in order to acheive approx. 500mv signal from the sensor at idle? The air pump was disabled due to a bad vacuum pot in the diverter valve. Plugged the vacuum line to eliminate the vacuum leak. I have a friend who is an emissions tech. locally and he ran a training test on their machine. Would I be on track with the fuel pressure adjustment? Thanks
