now I have the clutch assembly complete I can share my experience.

My GTS came with an 07 release arm which indicates it was assembled at the factory using a GT model clutch.
As I had bought the newer GTS Throw Out Brg, Pressure plate and clutch plate I decided to also install a GTS release arm.

heres the assembly ready to go back in:

Cool.. should be very nice to drive!

I fitted the complete GTS clutch to my '89 (pressure plate, release arm, guide tube, TOB etc.) and the action is surprisingly light and easy to use.

I've never been able to get my other S4's to have as light a clutch pedal, despite a correctly set up helper spring, so figure that the combination of teflon bits and new pressure plate fingers is whats made the difference.

While you've got the clutch off, are you replacing the clutch slave or the guts of the master?

thx Hilton.........I replaced the guts of the master a few years ago and the slave was replaced a year or so ago........I have also bled the system a few times

The stub shaft in my pics is the uber nice Greg Brown piece
