altho that cashmere might have even done better if the owner had done just a couple of little things with the engine bay, like adding a clean air filter and replacing the 2 missing box straps

It's actully cheap at 75k euros. IIRR previous owner bought it from Hamburg Porsche center and did some changes to it. Seems there weren't anything permanent done.

The AC condenser is for an auto car? Unless CS's used the smaller condenser to save weight? Other than that, the K&N filter and radio are the only obviously non-original parts.

Just can't justify the money for it right now, altho' it is possible to import to Oz, and in 4 more years I could drive it in my state (LHD allowed after 30 years).

 

In terms of cost the GTS eclipses the GT, but for my op-ed the GT eclipses the GTS in desirability. My two reasons are the fact I own a GT, and that the GTS has a well known oil consumption problem without much added performance.

 

Well i kinda skipped ahead here but what about 84 -85-86 s-2 cars they go good well very good. best of breed to me.

 

Do you have pictures of an AC condenser for a manual S4 to compare?
I wasn't aware of this difference if this is true.

The second US 1988 CS also has a grey-green inside, but with Porsche cloth for the seats, and it is red outside.

 

I have checked with others CS's I know and this is the first time I see a smaller AC condenser used.

I doubt this is original.

 

Here's the stock condenser in my manual '89 when I first got it.

87-91 5-speed cars have this size condenser - its almost the same height as the radiator, and there's a rubber seal which is attached to the radiator to close the gap. Auto cars, and all 92-95 manuals, have a shorter condenser like the CS above, to make space for the transmission cooler.

As already written, I doubt this is original but maybe the original size condenser is no longer available from Porsche so they used this one to replace.
