Default Best complement i have heard about a shark

Yesterday was a Pelican Parts Cars & Coffee. About 50 cars showed up, mostly 911 variants. A Ferrari 599, a C7 Z06, a Bentley, and a few other Marques. I was the only front engines Porsche there!

But what stole the show was this 87 959.

But hearing this comment made my day.

" there are two super cars here today, that 959 and that 928. The rest are just sports cars." And that was from a 993TT owner.

My 928 got as many questions and looks as the 959, it's was a blast!

And I spent a lot of time dispelling the myth that the 928 is a maintenance *****. When the maintenance is done when it is scheduled to be done, it's like any other Porsche. But most people that get a neglected car bitch the loudest about "all the work" that they have to do.

All in all a great time.

Very nice to hear. This one is not as great, but always good hear good things.
My cousin and brother came up from NC and my cousin loved the car, so I put the battery in and took him for a quick spin. My brother decided to film it with his phone. Excuse the loping as I have to do a top end refresh. Toward the end of the video a neighborhood kids says "Whoa that's a bad bleeping Porche!". Kid has good taste.

I love the 959. Absolute top of the heap supercar. I think that was Wayne's car - the owner of Pelican PArts. I heard he has one. Anybody confirm?

Yep, that's his car. Super nice guy.. He was talkng to me about the lack of aftermarket parts for the 928 compared to other models. I said that's ok, shark owners pool our talents and make our own.

Ducman, very nice report and event pics. Very envious seeing that great weather too, here in the northeast we're about to get severely whacked with a snow storm! Our sharks are tucked in for the storm.

That's super cool Ducman and your car is really, really sweet.

More pics of it there would be nice.

Wayne is a really neat guy, he pm'd me once to tell me he loved my "RS" project and posted once in the Pelican thread which surprised me.

He's a regular guy and his success obviously hasn't gone to his head.

Really great you represented.

Re 959:

It still looks like the 911 from the future to me.

This one is for sale on Hemmings, look at the pics of the undercarriage and motor. It's still an amazing Porsche. Same people made our cars !

That is Wayne's "driver 959". He also has a concourse queen 959 (red). It's good to be the Porsche Parts King.
