After the destruction of a 928 GT in the Christmas Special I'm not very thrilled with the idiots on Top Gear UK right now.

The Argentinians also started the war that led to the feelings of hate toward the English that ended up destroying the 928.

in that case, I really hate Argentinians, since they cause 928s to get destroyed!

Hmm don't know, the top gear folks pretty much killed the GT before they ran into the angry mob. Some say to was the Plate. chopping the back is what got me upset. But then again. one less one out there, and I still am enjoying mine.

Stressing over a hard driven broken 928 must cause absolute anguish when contemplating all those 1000s of historic race cars out there actually racing - and getting damaged.

I applaud anyone racing a vintage race car or driving their car on the street as often as possible. That is what they were intended to do. If they get damaged they can be repaired. However, I don't see the point of cutting up/destroying a rare car for fun. I drive all my cars regularly and I've parted out my share of well worn/beaten down cars and never thought twice about it, but I've never maliciously destroyed a car simply for sport.

TG used to only destroy crap cars that were well past saving. Now they seem to have graduated into destroying not only nice cars, but rare desirable ones. If they continue to destroy good cars they way they did in the Christmas Special I'll stop watching.

I still view the Christmas Special as a net gain for the breed, however. Very high profile coverage and the car acquitted itself favorably, given the conditions, and despite their unfortunate modifications, they clearly respected the breed itself. Favorable coverage can only help. We have this, we have articles in Panorama, we have Magnus Walker talking about them, we have some guy from Singer buying a nice GT...good things are going to happen!

Agreed. TG are never gentle with their cars.
