1985 928s at Barrett-Jackson
#2
I've watched a couple of hours of this auction. The prices have generally struck me as insanely high, and that's after me spending several months last year seriously shopping for 50's-60's American muscle cars. Don't know the details of this 928, but the context seems to make that price especially insulting.

Prob those pics weren't taken at the show, but the cowl is beaten and windshield washer collet where the lines enter the hood is not flush. Picky, I know, but seriously, maybe it wasn't such a rockin' car, at least not cosmetically. AND the 928 isn't seen as American muscle, so it never does well at BJ.

I saw this car Sunday in the flesh. A really clean all original car. Use the number as a benchmark as a sign that 928 values are rising and pristine examples will bring good money. Two years ago a similar 88 owned by Ari Lyundike didn't get that high. Prices are rising! That's why I posted it.

Intake looks stripped to me, but not painted or powder coated, almost like it was pressure washed. Not a factory air filter, K&N maybe? Seats look nice, but not original nice. Very tasteful detailing other than maybe whatever was done to the intake.
Unless its very low mileage, price seems a fluke.
