Default factory manuals

At the risk of asking an obvious question...

1. Does a single set of factory manuals only cover a model year?
2. Does a new set have information on every MY starting with the first MY?
3. If you buy a used set, how do you know what MY it covers?

Looking to buy a set but no one has them, thinking about buying used or some other way (CD?). Thanks in advance.

Default Manuals

Porsche prints them sporadically and the Big 3 and Performance Products has them, from $350 to 450, I think. A bona fide new set will cover all years. BUT there are unscrupulous individuals that sell partial sets as whole, and used as new. I have personal experience and there is a certain Shackleford I will always remember. There are also several individuals who have them on CD at a greatly reduced price. Some wish to be discreet. I will alert the individual I bought from that you are in the market.
