Central Warning Light and Seatbelt Light...
I would appreciate any guidance on the wiring involving the central warning indicator light, central warning reset button, and seat belt warning light.
Right now, "nothing" works on the CWL, and by that I mean the lamps never light at any time, and if there is supposed to be an audible buzzer or chime for the seat belts (??) it never annunciates.
This first photo is showing the wiring for the CWIL box, moved to the passenger side floor, with wires shown.
Starting from the CWIL box, I have blue, red, gray, and black wires extending back into 2 connectors.
For 1 of the 2 connectors, I have :
gray wire to brown with red stripe,
from a loose unattached hanging brown wire to another brown wire,
from blue wire to a red with black stripe,
and from a red wire to a black.
For the second connector from the CWIL box, I have a
loose unattached white wire going to a white with purple stripe,
and a black going to a black with blue stripe
Can somebody please tell me where the loose brown and loose white should attach?
Thanks, Dan

According to the wiring diagrams:
1 = Central warning light - Red/Black
2 = Central warning light - Black
(Functionally 1 & 2 can be swapped - doesn't matter).
3 = Central warning reset switch - Brown/Red
5 = Central warning reset switch - Brown
(Functionally 3 & 5 can be swapped - doesn't matter).
The remaining 2 connections (4 & 6?) Are for the Seat Belt Light which have Black/Blue & White/Violet wire in either order (doesn't really matter, wiring diagrams do not show the detail).
It seems your wires are connected very differently from this...? You can check the functions and the bulbs in the panel with a multimeter and 9v battery respectively .
The grey wire is only used (along with others) for the console central locking button versions - I assume you don't have that on an '81?

Alan, Thank you!
I will start with the meter and battery when I get home from work.
Needless to say, the rest of the central console wiring is pretty intimidating for
an amateur like me. But, slow and steady...... ha ha
Thank you sir,

With the 9v battery test and ohm meter check, the 2 lights and the CWIL reset switch work just fine.
I cleaned and soldered the loose wires back and now I'm ready to move on to the next part of the center console.
Thanks for the guidance!
