Default solder or electric glue for defroster

Rear defeater connection came loose during repaint. What is best way to reattach? Was going to solder but friend recommended conductive glue.

Mix up a batch of epoxy with metal filings in it. Copper works well, so does brass. Steel/iron will work but not as well.

You can also use one of the thicker "Super Glue" types mixed with filings.

Quick and easy. Works like a charm.

I've fixed several over the years with this method.

You can buy silver loaded epoxy. I think epoxy is need to get the strength required.

I've done this (not on a 928) and it worked. Heat from soldering might cause more problems.

Which side of hatch is the wire with this tab? My defroster **** lights up correctly in both positions. It will not time out or defrost the window. I thought this tab could be my problem.
Thanks
Thomas

This reminds me - I need to check the connection on my '89 as only half the rear demister works. Must be a similar issue to the OP.

Hilton,

Could you let me me know which connections are power (+) and which are ground (-) on the rear hatch when you look? I forgot to mark those wires during disassembly

Cheers!
