The title is not in the current owners name, so bonded title is the only option. He also doesn't have the KEYS.

Looking at the car is not a problem because there is NO driver's door latch at all. The door is wired shut.

The interior is pretty bad. I don't know what an acceptable level of deterioration is on a 928, but this one is one of the worst I've seen. The seats are worn, but the foam looked OK so they would recover. The dash is a factory leather covered one and had a warpy plastic overlay glued to it. The center console is in the back seat, the leather is coming off of it.

There is a pile of switches with cut wires in the floor. Perhaps sunroof, power windows, etc?

The driver's side door panel has been skinned. There is no vinyl/leather on it at all. The rear 1/4 interior pieces were splitting or skinning themselves.

I did run a carfax and it is not currently listed as stolen. Although it was stolen once in 1988. That means that the keys may have been changed after it was recovered. So getting a new key from Porshce might be impossible.

The body looks pretty good. I saw a couple of hail dings, but that was it. The tires are pretty old looking. The engine looked complete except the factory air tubes/hoses. But with no keys and no battery there is no way to know if it runs. The car fax hasn't been updated since 2006 and the tags were out in 2007 so it has probably been sitting since then.

I have often said that a "bargain " old 928 is $10,000 away from being a $5,000 car.....that would be too optimistic for this one If it got stolen in 1988 it easily could be a salvage title too.

Love how the ad says "runs great" or something to that effect. How the hell does the guy know that?

The owner/seller is bipolar or something. I should post screen shots of the texts.

Last week I asked for the VIN, which he sent me a screwed up version of. Eventually he told me I'd have to drive out to look at it myself before he could walk outside, look at the car and correct his mistakes.

On Tuesday morning he told me had to have $2500 to even call be back. Then by 5:00 he was calling me and texting me begging for $600. After I saw it and drive away without making an offer he texted me that he would take $500.
