I am unfamiliar with the 928 market, but this price seems low even for 928 standards. This is even lower than a 944 on the low end. Was this just a fluke good deal, or is there an issue here?
Is it the automatic?
For the interested 928 buyer, this seems like the perfect case of seller pouring money into a car, and then selling, recouping no return on his investment. Gotta feel bad for the seller.

Holy crap - I hope Michael didn't sell for that price. It's a good car; just needs a little tlc under the hood cosmetically, but it is a good runner. Way underpriced at that number. Hell, I would have bought it and stored it for that much.

eBay auto auctions are not biding sales like they used to be.
Regardless of the outcome of the auction, both the seller and buyer can opt out.
eBay auto sales has basically turned into Auto Trader with bids. It's a great way to get exposure for a car you are tying to sell.
No, he did not sell it for $2,500

The auction was posted here: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-for-sale.html
The bid price is very low. All I can think is that running an auction over Christmas may not be the best idea, folks tend to be distracted.

Well...
Auction was fairly short.
It's the middle of winter, and the holiday week.
While we keep our eyes open, and some of us are almost always up for a good deal, the actual demand for these cars is fairly low.
Finding the right person who is willing to pay the right price can take time. In my case, the car was for sale for over a year before I bought it. Priced a bit high, but still, it took that long for a buyer to come along.
I had my 944 for sale for an entire summer and got a handful of serious inquiries.
Then add that winter is the worst possible time to sell a "summer toy", plus the holidays where there are events that seriously limit time for this sort of thing, and limit available money even more.

The bid history is wacked; I saw it at 10,600 early Monday IIRC. Similar thing happened in his previous auction, I believe Mickster cancelled the auction at last minute do to some question about the buyer. Regarding this no-reserve sale, if anyone is serious about the car, they might PM him, it was also on the RL FS thread. It seems fairly represented, he has done some major maint., so far.
