Bought an early 87 S4 non-runner
According to the owners it ran until recently when the car was left outside.
They replaced the fuel pump. Silence from the fuel pump unless I jumpered it. Passed continuity from harness to relays and resistance tests for the CPS. So, I pulled the computers and it looks like water from a windshield leak got at least the Jetronic computer. The Jetronic is a rebuilt unit from 928Intl and somebody already had voided the warranty by breaking the seal and a few of the tabs. When I removed the cover this is what I see. Seems the putty is fine - found a picture on the jdsporsche site.
So, a pair of rebuilt computers are in my future.

windshield leak ??? far more likely the drain on the firewall for the wet well where the blower motor and wiper motor lives is blocked by debris and filled up too high...
And why would you need TWO brains ?? the ignition brains almost never fail. If you are currently parting out an 87 and a 91 ....I would think you might have spares..

There was definitely corrosion on the Jetronic pins. The EZK pins looked ok, but given the corrosion on the outside I figured I would have them at least tested.

I always think the worst, but I think we can rule that out. This car is so interesting. Autocheck confirms it is low mileage, but the poor thing was really mistreated. I found a oil change reminder for 2007 to change it @ 57k. Current mileage is 74ish. So it seems legit. Same two guys (neighbors) shared ownership since 2008. Have receipts for all kinds of work including a TT rebuild and powder-coated intake.

Louie will need to inspect the units, the problem with the pins is that they are steel with a thin tin plating. Once the plating is eroded by water, the steel follows fast.
They often corrode badly where the pin enters the plastic housing, as the water gathers there.
As others have said, you need to unblock the drain for the heater box. I've attached a picture of its location.

Swapped with known good computers
Still no start, no signal from LH computers. Suspect the CPS even though the test shows 965 Ohms.
In the meantime I pulled the fuel pump fuse and see it below. I need to deoxit the fuse panel and replace all the fuses for starters.
Findings.
Spark - Yes.
Injectors - Clicking
Fuel pump - runs when relay is jumped
No fuel at the rail. I guess that is a bad fuel pump, clogged fuel filter or line?
