Default Stubborn screw!

Hi,

Sorry if this seems a stupid question but I really like to know what are your different proposals to solve my problem!
Trying to replace a burned tail light, following the experts advise will replace both sides with similar bulbs to avoid central warning system false alarms, but one screw of the right lens won't come off.
It turns and turns but not coming out! As I understand to have access to the back of the tail lights housings the rear bumper must have to come out, is there a way to remove this screw without disassemble half of the car???

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Hello and yes you are correct, to access the back of the taillight assembly you have to remove the bumper cover.

However you are just trying to remove the plastic lens and one of the screws wont come out.

If you can get all the others out, then you may be able to get some plastic levers behind the lens (even stiff thin wire) and apply even pressure while turning the screw and jut pull it out with the lens.

The screw seats into the plastic taillight housing, also did you try a strong magnet depending on how stuck it is it may just come out.

and this bears repeating , the lens comes out straight towards the rear of the car,
pulling the lens slightly sideways usually jams it or cracks it

I actually had the same problem years ago with a 78 Euro.

Get a small suction cup and stick it to the lens. Pull the suction cup while turning the screw.

The tension of you pulling the lens should help pull the screw out or at least help it bite so it can be removed.

I had to get a slightly larger in diameter screw to reinstall.
