I was just there recently as well, and I was prepared for MUCH more history & engineering to be on display, considering Porsche's 'story'.
Running a full museum is pretty new for Porsche. The old "museum" was just a single room near the factory that had a rotating display of cars and a gift shop. Hopefully over the years they'll take better advantage of the new space.
