Default need help with Work Shop Manual

I need some help from someone that knows the wsm better than me.

I am reassembling everything from my OPG, MM job and have mixxed up the washers.

I need to find the exploded diagrams to see which size washer goes where, and there were some without washers

I have found the suspension part, but cannot find anything with the motor mount and cross brace....

anyone know where it is.

Steven,
I put all the hardware in labeled plastic bags. I've already partially installed the crossmember and motor mounts, so maybe I can help by sending you pics of my bags with hardware inside.

The hardware I've installed so far:

1. Bolts that hold the motor mounts to the ribs on the engine (two long 17 mm, and two shorter 13 mm per mounting bracket that gets bolted up with washers to the ribs on each side). Washers match the bolt head size...easy to match to those bolts.

2. Lower motor mount studs passing down through the cross member (BIG washer, smaller washer, and bolt...perhaps your motor mounts came with new hardware - still reuse the big washer.).

3. Outer 19 mm cross member bolts with THICK washers (between head of the bolts and crossmember) not much larger than the head of the bolts. NOTE These bolts do NOT have nuts and washers for the threaded end...they bolt up into the chassis.

That's where I stopped. All snug, but not torqued at this point. Haven't put in the upper crossmember support bolts yet (the holes are lined up pretty well...that's nice.) The remaining bolts are in the labeled bags and bolt up the lower control arms. As I write this I'm referring to Dwayne's guide...not too difficult to figure out where the rest of the bolts go.

Hope this helps.

awesome guys.. thanks

I keep everything in bags as well...

this job my 13 year old is "helping" me and he cleaned all the fasteners for me.. instead of doing one bag at a time, he thought he was being really helpful dumping them all into the parts washer.....

the WSM is very clear not to mix up the washers on the two lower a arm mounts.... i am short one of the sizes, so i am trying to figure out where i went wrong....

Steven,

If you need picture(s) of the front suspension, I can take some if you want.
The car is on jack stands with the wheels removed right now.

You're looking at the diagram on WSM pg 40-2, correct? And the notes for items 20 & 23 that say not to mix those up.

Which washer are you missing? The larger washers (6mm thick x 30mm dia) go on the M12 x 80mm bolts on the rear mount,
and the smaller (4mm thick x 25mm) washers go on the M12 x 100mm bolts on the front.
As far as I can tell, neither of those are used elsewhere (on a 928).
