Starting problems
I having trouble starting my 928s (euro / K-jetronic). It seems that the ignition coil only gives 3-5 sparks when the ignitionkey is turned. If any one has any experiece in testing the ignition-box (bosch 0227 100 008) I would appreciate hearing about it..

Check the following:
1. Check the condition of the connectors on the green wire going from the distributor to the ignition module. The connector on the right side near the module can get corroded.
2. Check the resistors on the panel in front of the left fender well. If the wires are loose or corroded this could cause your problem. Also check to make sure you are getting 12 volts to the resistors during cranking. If you aren't getting 12 volts, cehck the #50 connection on the starter solenoid.
3. Resistance check the coil. A bad coil could spark initially but quit when heated.

Check the green wire and look for abrasions or wear. It carries a very weak signal and, I've been told, routing it so it does not touch the block can help.
I've never heard of a CIS "brain" going bad. Too dumb already? Any citings?

Hi All - thank you for your replies :-) ... my car is a 1980.
I have tried with an other coil and there is min. 12v on tbe "brain" when the starter runs. I will check the green wire thursday (local time/DK)
My alarm is an Ungo 6900 (+ carstarter) and has been working fine 7-8 years. I don't use he original alarm (long key).
The problem started on the p-lot at my work. The car was very difficult to start it took 5-10 min. The car was firing now and then and at last it started.
I dont have a wire diagram on the engine - if anyone could mail me, it would be great.

Yep, the first thing I would do is to take off the green wire and test it with a multimeter. Make sure you twist the wire around a bit to see if it "shorts" against itself. Mine was broken apart near the connector on the brain end. The two wires were making contact with each other causing the car to run horibly bad, and then would not start. If you end up buying a new one make sure its tested before having the parts house send it out. Porsche made a bad bunch of these. Ask me how I know.....
