A used S4 engine under tray...bought during 928 Intl holiday sale. It's not actually here yet, but it will arrive in early January. I envy Otto's OTC tool kit...he must have been really nice this year

It's thisone, 1250# capacity. yewtoob:

It has cast steel wheels with a piece of steel tube for a bearing/bushing, a bolt for an axle. All were dry as received. So they all came apart, and a bit of moly grease was added to the outside of the tubes and inside of each wheel so they would roll a little easier. Similarly, there are dry ball bearings at each caster to let them pivot. A needle adapeter on my grease gun let me fill those bearings with the same moly bearing grease top and bottom so they would swivel easily. The sliding bar part of the jack is grease with common Alvania #2 (my guess...). Cleaned that off and replaced with Vaseline. For the duty, Vaseline is more than adequate, plus it doesn't stain clothing.

Bought both on sale, plus had a couple 25%-off coupons to further lessen the pain. Oregon is a no-sales-tax state, bringing the total cost of the pair to less than $100 all in.

They work just fine on my tiled workshop floor. I just need them to move the one end of the car sideways so I can roll it on tires from the 'car' side to the 'workbay' side. Then the dollies again to pivot into position for the lift.

I'm in the process of cutting a few suspension blocks to set under the suspension arms to hold the tires off the floor. Front has the plastic air redirectors under the control arms so it's more than a stack of 2x lumber up there. Rear is relatively simple.

K's 4Runner gets lift time today. Brakes are squeaky, from dragging the pedal going down the driveway at the old house. No long steep driveway at the new place, so some cleaninig/deglazing should do the trick I think. Garage heat is set for 60º, outside it's just at freezing today.

Nice addition with the Cayenne!
