Roger,

Not looking good at this point. I found the stuck exhaust valve and it's stuck good. I tapped on it from above and got it to go down some, but it's not springing back like it should. Soaking in PB blaster now. I'll most likely have to pull the heads and have a machine shop clean them up. Also need to replace the exhaust manifolds and risers which only last about 5 years in salt water. (Mine are original, and this is what probably caused the issue, a small amount of water leaking into the cylinder). Seems I have all my boat issues in the spring, right around Rockport time. I'm gonna keep working on it and see what I can do.

As much as we would truly love to be there, we have to be on the other side of the world shortly and cant do both.

Look forward to seeing all at IIIrd Coast

Hope everyone has a fantastic time (best wishes to your family Sean).

Doing an oil change before the trip which requires removing the military grade belly pan. Low and behold I find where my starter was saved amoungst other thing,s from an object (and I remember which one) I hit in the road a few weeks back. The belly pan has now proved its worth, I'm a believer not to quote The Monkeys.

Body shop reports they will release my car NLT Wednesday. I was sweating that! Now just have to worry about all the flashing dash lights. Sean told me to ignore them as they are merely faulty brake sensors. I'll either see you folks in Rockport Friday or fail in the effort. A great adventure either way.

Brad - Are you joining the group driving to RP? Lots of help should you need it. I am taking my 82 Weissach so the kids can drive the GTS.

I'm gonna try that, Roger. Thanks! Not sure I can keep up with the rest of you, though. A new med requires more frequent stops than most feel a need to do. Not to worry, though. You guys drive on as fast as you dare. I'll get there eventually, even if it is in a rental car.

Alex, I've believer since I bought my very first 928, the Schwartz car, an '84 Euro 5 speed with 1" hole in the side of the block. Apparently, the PO drove over something in the middle of the highway that kicked up into the AC compressor, pulling it off the side of the block with a 1" piece of the block attached and dragging the AC compressor by it's hoses until he could get the whole thing stopped and shut down.
Thinking about that car, it's just getting closer and closer to time for me to work on it again. (Engine has to come out again for head gaskets)
