Scott - Those are great shots, especially the ones inside the museum. I appreciate you letting us make use of your talents!
I really enjoyed meeting all of guys who showed up. I also enjoyed hearing all of the positive comments about the various 928 gatherings around the country. It has gotten me to thinking about trying to put together some type of regional/national meeting of 928 folks here in Kansas City. Since we have the auto museum to use however we'd like, that seems like a great start.
Any thoughts from either the local guys or you guys nationally who might be interested in such a thing?

Originally from a little town north of KC. Now live in Atlanta and recently drove to 3rd Coast. Plenty of family back in the KC area and would certainly welcome an event! I mean BBQ, Boulevard Brewery and 928s sounds like a great combination!

Jeff - would love to see a regional. Seems like the one down in South Tx is the closest, plus I think Jerry Feather has something out in Grand Junction? (which is a hell of a drive from here.)
So getting a regional together might be able to pull in from Chicago/MSP/StL etc, the Denver and TX people who have those others, as well as the further flung who want to find an excuse for a road trip. (Is there a Chicago event?)

Too bad most KC "destinations" aren't super car-friendly (Plaza, Crossroads/P&L) ... just thinking from a draw standpoint. Gotta give the people something to do other than the museum and meet.

Seems like fall is more predictably pleasant than spring in KC. Something around the 1st of October?

(sorry for the ramble - just string of consciousness)

Definitely would have to be farther off than this spring. Agree that it would have to include multiple activities, but BBQ & Boulevard Brewery would be super easy to pull together. Planning around First Friday event in Crossroads could be done - the auto museum has a great relationship with Union Station, so we could stage the cars there in Union Station's back lot and take the walkway across the tracks into the heart of the Crossroads District. Of course, the Royals should be right in the middle of another World Series run in October so . . .
Anyhow, lots to think about and discuss. Keep the comments coming.

Dropped off at BHR this morning. We shall see how they do. Beautiful shop, very clean. The kind of clean you pay a premium for. I asked them to give me an estimate on fixing my exhaust leak (passenger side manifold, I think) too, we'll see what that comes out to.

Parked next to an immaculate 80's 911 targa.

(completely unrelated sidenote, I used to do IT support for small businesses, the Cirillas warehouse is just up the street from them. fun client... "warning max 40lbs lube per box" on the warehouse door always got a chuckle.)

BHR used to have the kind of reputation that AutoEdge in Minnesota enjoys, but it seems like they really fell off the radar screen in the last ten years or so. I know Aaron has been able to keep the doors open but I am not sure who his clientele (aside from random "Porsche owners") is.

If you want to try and make a wrenching party out of repairing the exhaust leaks, I am pretty sure we have a group of guys willing to pitch in and I can provide the garage, lift and tools.

Thanks. BHR called this morning. Can't align due to tie rods. They made a good offer on the tie rod replacement (parts, labor, tax - I like that they quoted the out the door price.) So they'll have it through to next week.

ALSO they found an inspection bung that was cracked and repaired it for me no charge. So I'm a fan of BHR at this point. Will give a final report next week.

From their lot/website/shop it looks like they are counting on the high dollar Porsche/Audi/VW customer. I think I won points with them by dropping it off with the wife in the TDi ... didn't seem like they were sitting around but didn't seem they were flooded with work either.
