These folks have a place in GV, and also in Bedford. Maybe give them a call and see what the situation is for Feb Sat am?

They have Good Breakfast's but they don't take reservations as the problem with many of the good places.

Two months ago i did give Dixie House Owner a call and he said they had to shut down due to problems with water and electricity with the highway construction. When I told them construction was finished he said the building needed a roof and they don't know when it will re-open. I'm guessing they may never re-open.

AND Mike and I went to a restaurant a few weeks ago in NRH close to the Chef Point Cafe and the Owner was the Manager of the Dixie House that closed and most of the waitresses were from the Dixie House too. The food was all the same and They want do want the group to come check them out and they have a separate room for us that seats 40.

So anytime the group wants to check them out let me know- however there are no Mimosas

Old West Cafe recently opened their 3rd location - Arlington at Hwy 20 and Little Road. The owners are Porsche People and have a large banquet room we could use. Great food and large portions!

A great group of people! I learn so much every time. Thanks all!

Now if I could just convince Roger to convert it to a lunch for us night owls.

A few of us have been trying to do this for a while. Not many are keen for it and each time it's suggested we get a few smart *** comments about how others should put the gathering together.

I'm up for a lunch on next month. Laura is looking into the Old West Cafe in Arlington. I'm not much for early mornings either, but it does give us the rest of the day for other interests. Once you are up and moving, having the balance of the day to get stuff done might be a more efficient use of time. Meh - that's just the engineer in me talking.

I drooled over Brads car for a while. It's fantastic looking. Many years spent in a garage out of the sun and elements. Rather nice.

Maybe we could compromise and get the time for 10-ish? Then off by noon. The early risers can take a break and have a nice meal, and the night folks will just be getting going.

Can't be any more of a night owl than me. Get your a$$es out of bed!!

Guys,
One of the reasons our group is so successful is that we are consistent. First Saturday EVERY MONTH is 928 Breakfast wherever. Look at any other group anywhere around the country. No other group can match ours as far as overall turnout.

If you would prefer not to come to the breakfast, schedule a lunch on another date to not interfere with the first Saturday so that the breakfast folk might join you. Post the lunch online so that others might join you. Historically, folks griping about the breakfast and breakfast time have failed to consistently get this set up, failed to consistently show up at the place THEY chose, or failed to follow up monthly.

Why yes -- yes I can.

Ever pick up a book by Emerson? Being a semi-libertarian his essays on self reliance were like Hard 8 BBQ sauce to me. and now I've completely jumped the shark.

Sorry! As a newbie, I didn't realize I was reopening an old wound here.

These gatherings have been too good for me to miss them solely because they require me to get up in the middle of my normal night. My natural biorhythm gets me to bed around 2:00 and up around 10:00. It is not my choice; it is just the way I was built. I managed to fight it for over 30 years to adjust to corporate America every weekday, and I guess I can fight it for one Saturday each month for this gathering.

My sister gave me a tee shirt for my birthday today. She's a morning person. It reads "Carpe Noctem". I won't wear it to any breakfast gatherings of you Carpe Diem folks.

No harm Brad, it's all good. We are exercising our rights to whine about first world problems. Got your PM too, and thanks for the link.

I can survive a once a month wake up call, but I can also complain about it. Win-win.
