I agree. Interesting.
And I've learned a new word.
I suppose as one who appreciates the 928, I'm a sybarite. Who knew?

Pablo, I just put 2 and 2 together, thanks for writing! Good writing style. An interesting time in the history of Porsche. reading some other stuff, and looking at what happened a few years ago, it seems Porsche has always been on the edge in many ways. they seem to go through their ups and downs financially. I recently read about the recession that hit them around 1988 and how the sales of 928s began to tank, and that was the ending of these great cars.

I was going to post that too. Good article, but I agree, that last line was confusing. Either he didn't mean it the way we're interpreting it, or he doesn't really understand the word though. I certainly do not consider myself, or the bulk of 928 enthusiasts TODAY (at least as evidenced by the folks on this list) as "sybarites." Perhaps the original customer base? Maybe? I'm not sure.

Thanks Dr! I'm eventually making my way to that "other" dark period since the birth and eventual death of these great cars sort of comes full circle. This is very important history to remember, especially for our younger enthusiasts who are amongst the custodians of first generation water-cooled Porsches.
Hi Bureau, thanks for the compliment and yep...I fully understand the words I use.

I love rooting for Pablo and just read his latest article. He writes really great stories that are actually of interest. Small player amoungst the big guys out there who are writing about the latest wonder machine out of Zuffenhausen and Pablo sticks to the adventures we all want to hear about. The break downs, the saves from the car grave, the cross country adventures where you don't know if your ride is going to make it or not.
Keep up the great work Pablo, we are all watching and reading.

Wow! I was SUPER excited when the tagline in the e-mail was about our cars. That article was beautifully written and directed attention to a very fascinating story. Thanks, Pablo, for giving our sharks some really serious exposure!

Lol OK then are we misinterpreting your end line? Who you callin' a sybarite?!
Both cars seemed to have learned from each other's character towards the mid 90s, though, and were capable of suiting what used to be two separate camps 20 years earlier just the same.
Josh! Thanks for the kind words! It's always a pleasure—
