I have an opportunity to buy 1987 CS

If it has the original engine block, transmission, and VIN, then its restorable.
The ECU's had a different part number, but are actually functionally the same, with the only difference being the ECU chips, which can be copied to give the same performance, and the odds of finding a correct ECU are slim to none, unless Porsche still has new ones and don't just show a supersede in their database.
Everything else missing in the pics can be lifted from S4's of various years, except the CS sticker, which is NLA. (e.g. AC compressor from a 90-95 car, intake/heads/cams from an 89GT or SE)
Kevin - before considering buying, you need to get a photos of the engine block number and the transmission numbers.
Looks like it might be the Albrex supercharger kit which was the original 928 boost kit?

I should have a original sticker soon (silver) and I will try to make accurate copies of it.
The ECU's need to be check. I suspect they are original to the car and as this car is a prototype the ECUs certainly also are.
With a lot of time and money, this car can be restored. But it needs someone who knows what he is doing to do it right.

As I told you, no CS was ever delivered with a sunroof. That makes the following car more than suspicious to me:

I think this car (wp0zzz92zjs845068) is a fake.

Call me Robbyanna, and I wouldn't try to bite off that project, but OTOH if the VIN checks out, and the M28.41SP engine is there, and the G28.55 trans is there, and the CS-specifc LH brain is there (where else in the world are you going to get THAT sticker....) I would say that hulk is worth way more than zero. $5K of bodywork, $10K of paint, $20K of drivetrain work, $10K of interior re-work, plus the cost of purchase and intercontinental transport, You might break even..

A real light CS has no AC and radio. I don't know if there was even one made, except the very first prototype.
Most of the cars have at least the AC, and only one production car (the very first one) has not the radio equipment.
Regarding this particular prototype, it was delivered with AC, a radio and a rear wiper.
Its equipment was:
M220: Locking differential
I298: Prepared for unleaded fuel, manual transmission
I328: Radio Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46
M474: sport shock absorbers
I'm almost sure that a car with a AC and a radio must have the regular alternator, battery and wiring harness.

If that was one of 10 '88 MY ROW CS it would be more interesting to me. Factory made all kinds of prototypes and they are obviously rare and all that but only '88 CS has separare VIN set which makes it little more special. In any case this proto should be saved. Big thing is are engine block and gearbox casting ok or not. Body is actually easier to fix than those if there is crack in the block or something like that.

More documentation
I also have the attached PDF in German about the provenance of this car including an email from Porsche.
At the right price this could be fun... but without the delivered computers i am a bit hesitant to move forward with this.

What is important is that engine is correct SP block and gearbox is original. Though engine might not have same number what is listed in factory document, 81H00744. If it's same then it should be M28/41 SP 81H00744. G1G1 is guards red I think so that matches at least.
If you decide to pass it please provide details where it's for sale. I'm sure someone in Europe will save it if asking price isn't ridiculous.

Stand corrected on the ECUs.
Could the supercharger be original to the CS?
So, what is it worth in Euros as it sits assuming the motor and gearbox are original?

Lets assume reasonable 50K euro value for fully rebuild car. 10K for bodywork, 10K for paint, 10-15K for all needed parts. So maybe 10K on very very good day if one do not count any value for 1000+ hours it takes to put it together. If all work is done for $$$ real value is negative 30K euros or less because 50 euros/hour cost.

As with the computers there was no CS gearbox at the time, right? I would guess the gearbox came off the line as a 87 but there is a possibility it was worked over for the prototype. More study is required. Already was working with RichVM on the possibility filling a container. Anybody need a GTS engine or two? 1990 GT Strosek? :-)
Certainly has my attention at this time.
