Default Silly Supercharger Question

So, I run a very moderate boost in my car.

I have a smaller pulley I can throw on my supercharger, but I've never done it because I do not have an intercooler.

Now that the air is cold in Chicago, can I just slap that thing on, just to see what it is like?

I mean the ambient air should be cold enough, right?

I would not make a major change like that without tuning for it.

How do you tune for it, if you don't put it in?

Possibility you could go very lean......cold dense air at higher pressures.....bad juju without wideband AFR....

But then again, I don't have one yet to play with.

What's the difference in the size of pulley's?

From what I understood, the LH will compensate for the additional air intake

I just put a smaller pulley on Rocket, adding an additional 2 psi and no issue in AFR.

Rob,
Of course I have a wideband. I would never have boosted the car without it.

Darien,
I think it is like an extra 3psi. My car has the L-jet. I have a Vortech FMU, and a full set of disks, so I can adjust the fuel (under boost) pretty easily.

You haven't adjusted timing for the boost you have now, and you want to add more boost.......???

Hence the title!

Honestly though, I barely ever see a positive number on my boost gauge, and it is not for a lack of trying.

Where is the vacuum line from the boost gauge connected to on the engine?

Same question for the FMU...

Im curious where the best place to measure vacuum/boost, and connect the FMU would be as well.

Hacker,
Both are getting vacuum from a line running out of front of the spider.
