There was a guy named Heinrich on this board who installed a set of Boxster and 996 seats in his 928 a while back. I think his thread and pictures still exist if you search. Unfortunately, he does not detail how to install the seats in the car. There is some fab work that needs to be done for the brackets mount correctly.

between hurricane irene, and medical issues i have been working on the car for a while and this is one of the last issues... i am dying to get it back together.

I think Tony in TX put a set of 997 sport seats into one of his 928s (the blue one if I remember right). Not sure if those were the manual or electric versions, but even the manual versions have electric recline I think (manual slide and lumbar). He might me able to help you.

Forgive me for being ignorant but once you figure out the mounting, can't you get the wiring diagram for Boxster seats and put fused power on the right supply lines and ground on the ground lines.

I would think your 928 seat wiring can provide the power/ground but would expect you MIGHT want to ask in the Boxster forum for a wiring diagram for seats.

Maybe I am missing something?

I have read that it is not that easy. The switched do not directly power the motors... from what I have read there is a computer and some "LOGIC" involved.

may not be the case. I am going to put 12V to them tonight and see.....

so it looks like it may well indeed be that simple.

It took a few test fits and some cutting on the track, but it bolted up... nothing that a hammer and angle grinder couldn't handle.

it was quite the ordeal getting it in.. i lost the bottom "nut" that the seat bolt screws into. it slid down into the cars seat frame... what a pita to get out.

I also had to take the seat in and out about a dozen times, then when i finally got everything in and bolted up i sat in the seat.
felt nice.. not as comfy as the 928 seat but it will be a fine fill in until i get mine recovered.

i went to buckle the seat belt.... CRAP..no go...

gotta take the seat back out in the morning and switch receivers and wiring ....

looks like it will be coming back out tomorrow. It should go much smoother this time.

passenger seat is next..... it also should be much easier this time.

ill post pics when i am done.
