The Other White Car - Status
On July 15th, I picked up the “other” white car from Eric Munck (Projekt928). What started out as a 2-3 week turnkey supercharger install, grew to a 15 month project.
The engine, completely rebuilt, has the T-trim Vortech and intercooler installed along with 5 digital gauges measuring all stats. I now have over 1500 miles on it and still fine tuning little things. A custom strut bar was made by DEVEK last week and I won my class at an autocross this last Sunday. The autocross was the first time I exceeded 4000 rpm and I must report… it hauls ***. Although, the project process and length of time to have my toy back was difficult to deal with, I must say the end result is awesome. So far, it looks like a first class quality job. Dyno will be in a few weeks. I’ll post the results.

Joe, seein' as you are located in California, how were you able to pass the smog inspection?

With Cat on, it passed Bar 92 rolling dyno L.A. smog test. The Bay Area moves from tailpipe (Bar 90) to dyno smog testing this October. Another one for Davis and the EPA. Guess the shop didn't see the Race Only T-Trim ;-)

Alright, everybody forget about the history of this engine and look at that thing. What a bee-yoo-tee-full 928 engine.
And from here on... I say we judge SC performance not from dynos and miles accumulated without incident but rather number of sets of rear tires you go thru each calender year.

How much boost, and what compression ratio are you running so that I can calculate your estimated horsepower?
Did Devek finish the car up for you? What exhaust are you running?

Compression - not sure, stock GTS pistons 1 over, thicker head gaskets. Only measured one cylinder at 170. The original pistons were not broken. I have them. The reason for a bottom end re-build was due to excessive crankcase pressurization, 3 psi on boost. This caused extreme blowby. Benson's Performance who did block, told me 2 cylinders were badly oval in shape causing the blowby.
Boost - is 11 psi at 6000 rpm.
Exhaust - DEVEK headers, 2 Borlas, RMB by Eric.
DEVEK did not finsh the car, Eric did.
