CocaCola Car Resurrection Thread

Andrew,
Great to see it back on the road and running so well. That rebuilt engine from Abby's ownership sure sounds healthy.
By the way, what are your plans with the body/livery?
Have fun,

Yes, it does sound very healthy. Even better, without doing an alignment, the car tracks straight. Steering wheel is slightly off, but nothing major. I think we are very lucky.
As for the livery, I'm not sure the CocaCola is going to survive with both the hood and right fender gone. We will need to paint the front clip. Red is our best option. SO there is a possibility that in the future we will put the "CocaCola" script back on, but I think for now, we are focused on getting the pieces back on the car.
Not sure if you noticed, but there was no front bumper when we drove it. So there is still some assembly required. Then paint. Then tune.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the reply.
Great news about the alignment, seems the frame straightening work was done well.
You took on quite a project and saved a cool 928 from being parted out. So I can imagine there is a lot more to be sorted out.
Looking forward to your progress posts along the way, so please keep them coming.
Happy Holidays,

Yea.....that kinda flows with Andrew's lifestyle.....
Well I'm not the world's most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my Lola la-la-la-la Lola
Well I'm not dumb but I can't understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
Oh my Lola la-la-la-la Lola la-la-la-la Lola
Well I left home just a week before
And I'd never ever kissed a woman before
But Lola smiled and took me by the hand
And said dear boy I'm gonna make you a man
Well I'm not the world's most masculine man
But I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man
And so is Lola
La-la-la-la Lola la-la-la-la Lola
Lola la-la-la-la Lola la-la-la-la Lola

Nice! That car always lays down a killer soundtrack!
Great job Andrew and crew, you guys are going to have a blast with that car. Where are the Fikse wheels? Did they get trashed in the hit?

I think we have all the parts now to finish the front end. The front reinforcer (the metal part of the bumper) looked okay, but the mounting tabs were broken off. We now have a replacement. We have the bumper cover, spoiler, and brake ducts. Next step is to put the pieces on the car and paint it up.
Super fun project!

It's alive!
Got the car Saturday morning. Drove it for the first time (for more than 30 seconds. Car runs quite well. All temps are good, oil pressure is good, brakes good too. Clutch feels like it needs to be bled, along with brakes.. ABS light is on too. Still need to go through the entire car, but I am VERY happy for how this worked out. It was a gamble, but it paid off, HUGE!
CocaCola decals should be coming this week.
A HUGE thanks goes to John F. at CCF Autobody who also owns a 1987 928S4. He made this happen. Good to have a guy like this in your corner.

Words cannot express my feelings about this whole chapter of this very special 928's rebirth.
Congratulations and hope you enjoy this 928 as much as I did during my time with it.
