What does the collective think?
For the sake of this discussion, assume everything checks out and the car needs nothing to be driven.
It currently belongs to a local car collector and has been serviced by our own local 928 guru for many years.
He's talking about liquidating some of the collection, I need to know a high mark for this one to work back from.
I know, I know.....no more black cars....I'm a sucker for the red interior though.

How does the paint look?
The pics look dusty (no big deal) but black often looks a lot different in person than in pics.
If the paint is an 8 or better, I'd agree with $20k+

i agree whit sometting around 20 to25 grands, it really look pristine i also love that red interior indeed, my only concern is that i found the gap between the glove box door and the dash a little big,but that's detail that can somehow be fix. If it drive as good as it look: go for it!

Mine has that same gap. Worse, actually. I think the glove boxes just warp over time, but getting a replacement is pretty cheap and easy, relatively speaking.

All I can agree is well sorted interior, low miles, mechanically good and owned by a Porsche mechanic.
Everything else eh depends. So depending on his opening price and your bartering skills and how much is he willing to let it go for so ill say between $18k-$30k

Beautiful car! I love black! Red interior, not so much though....is that yellow piping? yuk!
5 speed with LSD, pretty low miles in great condition and maintenance up to par, I'm thinking in the low $20k.
No jump post cover - $5k......

I thought that the yellow piping was odd too (a local has the same in a white 85). Come to find out that the piping is actually red...and fades to yellow over time/exposure. Find a hidden corner where the piping didn't get the sun and you'll see that it's red...

Let's see:
This one has a lot going for it and should bring top dollars. I'd say somewhere in the low to mid $20's. GLWS!
- Very desirable 86.5 model
- Collector preferred 5spd
- Quite low mileage
- Relatively unique color combo
- Excellent condition
