Very nice color combo; that cork interior looks new. Good score indeed!

I'm not going to change the stereo, or anything to do with it.

I may have a line on a decent engine locally for sale which would drop in.

I wished that the front spoiler had not been added, but the colour while not original looks amazing. The interior is actually better than new as the dash was modified so that the leather will not pull up, and the seats were completely redone so that they will never squish down as many of the earlier seats tend to do.

I will be fixing this car with the intent to sell it. Hence wanting to hear from the collective!

I prefer cars that are not cosmetically perfect, and with higher miles as I drive my cars, and I drive them hard. I am also not someone who fusses over the car and cleans every spot of dirt off it like this car deserves. So I will be doing the engine up to match the rest of the car. But then hoping to sell it to someone who will give it the love that it truly deserves.

It is a beautiful car no questions, but it is too nice for me, and any car that I own/have will be getting driven.

Once I get an engine in to it, I will determine the condition of the syncros in the box, and if needed, I will also rebuild the box prior to selling it. I do also have 2 G28-03 boxes both with LSD, and less than 50k miles on them that I could do a freshening on and install.

Part of it depends on how much you will be looking for from the car. Strangely, I would say that if you are looking for the best dollar possible you want to go totally stock and as fresh and as good looking as possible. If you want to sell it to the 'list community, the 5.0l route will be slightly helpful, but we are a cheap lot, and outside this community nobody will understand any non stock changes you make.

Nice score on the'78!! I wish my '83 looked that good. I do, however, agree with DR.ING. h.c. F. Porsche--" I designed my cars to be driven, NOT polished! ". Put a good engine in it and DRIVE. It's a great looking shark you lucked into FLAUNT IT.

My take on the engine - if early 928 values ever take off, someone won't care about the cost of overboring and fixing it, as long as the numbers match. So keep the engine handy with the car.

Just buy one of the many ~$1500 cosmetically trashed 86.5 cars and swap out suspension, brakes, and engine.... that would be a perfect combination in my opinion.
