Default Best way to disconnect MAF, Injectors, etc.

Out of curiosity what do people to to disconnect the MAF harness in a 32v 928? Just pull it off carefully?

Injectors are similar but the spring bail is smaller and easier to lose. I have been removing the bail with a small screwdriver and trying not to lose it. I see there is a tool for this connection for some cars.

Thanks,
-Joel.

I use a knife to pry the spring clip back enough to remove the plugs. You don't have to completely remove the clips.

Bosch makes a special tool, which to me is stupid, if you get the non-Bosch licensed knock offs, they have the wire made with a bend you push on to get it off. Same style of locking inside the connector but made so you just squeeze it and it comes off.

Edited

Excuse me, it's the Junior Timer connectors that use the easier clips. https://www.google.ca/search?q=junio...sp%3B291%3B267

The way I remove the injectors is to leave them attached to the fuel rail and lift one end then the other to loosen then pull up from the middle, if the lowerer seals are not bake hardend they should come out fairly easy. but if you choose to remove the fuel rail first, use a magnetic pick up tool in one hand while removing the clips with a screwdriver in the other. removal of the injectors individually requires some careful well placed leverage to pry them out of the intake. As for the little square shaped wire clip on the plug, I use a couple of small picks to spread the ends apart.

I have the special tool that works really well to save skinned knuckles if nothing else (also fits the ISV connector that is otherwise hard to reach).

For MAF just careful wiggling/pulling!

per the hint further down, keep a magnet as close as possible nearby.
