Default Watkins Glen Video #1 - 911 Turbo? So

Enjoy.

More to come once I process a few other videos; I'll post those in the Kraken thread with a full write up of the trip.

I was the ONLY 928 there this round. WTF?! C'mon y'all! The 928 was built for this track. And others. I'm doing my best to represent us well (and I think this video shows that) but seriously, please consider trying this at least once. Some tracks have single track days, so it's not as big a commitment. Any way you do it, go try it. You won't regret it. Unless of course you stuff into the wall. But don't do that.

Well done Michael. Since I'm no longer 'behind the wheel' at the Glen, et al, I can still enjoy the moments by watching your videos. SO glad you are still representing the model, and like you, I wish many others would learn how great their car is, and produce a few 'WOOOOOO HOOOOO's for them selves at these great and historic road tracks.

Mike,
This is on my 'want to do real bad" list but as you know it's never been in the cards for me. I'm not giving up and the day my car is ready to do this you'll be the first to know.

Thanks Gary! Definitely missed you at our annual Glen meeting. It genuinely felt different, though someone else had a tire-only trailer there. Definitely made me think of you! Perhaps you can come around next year if only to give me some pointers.

Thanks Thom. Fair warning... it's addictive.

Looks like fun. Need to go there (and Mosport) at least once...

Well done! I'd live to make some trips up there, even as a spectator! I spent most of 1987 to 1992 there working timing and scoring.

Fraggle,

WHEN you go, go to drive. In 13 years of driving, and well over 10K miles on a dozen or so tracks, I NEVER saw a two car incident. Yes, saw a few one car incidents where the driver exceeded HIS/HER skill, but never the result of inadequate CAR capability. IT is actually safer - in my and several others opinions - than driving on the streets/highways. And a LOT MORE fun!!

Wow, that is exciting. If I could afford to change by brakes and tires frequently I would love this. But for now I have to plan for retirement !

But unfortunately, insurance won't cover damage on a race track...

Mike, so sorry to have missed it this year. My work has challenged my track plans earlier this year and Helga has had some issues recently that have kept her off the track. Glad you were there to represent. hope to get back in the spring!

Courtshark, thanks for sharing this video - very cool! So your 928 is not stock Is there a thread detailing the modifications?

F.I., I used to have them all listed in my sig but then my sig was longer than every post! Check out the "Kraken" thread for details on the car: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...ion-diary.html

I'll be posting to that later today with a full write-up of the event.
